Inspired by Street Art, Naples, and the Handcrafted Human Spirit
Recently, I took a trip to Naples, Italy—a place full of character, grunge with a strong sense or "reality". As we wandered through the Spanish Quarter, one thing struck me more than anything: the street art. Specifically, the tributes to Diego Maradona.
Maradona was a childhood hero of mine, but in Naples, he’s more than a memory, he’s a living legend. His face is everywhere. Graffiti, murals, t-shirts, shrines. Even though he is not alive anymore, you get taken in by the feeling of Maradona and embrace the wonder of this little place in time.
As I took it all in, a thought hit me: if that art had been AI-generated, would I have travelled halfway across the world to see it?
No way.
We don’t make pilgrimages for perfection—we make them for authenticity.
The Irreplaceable Power of Handmade
Sure, we love technology. We appreciate convenience. I’m not knocking AI, I use it, I love it. But there's a reason why people still flock to farmers' markets, why we buy handmade cheese from our local village shops, why we treasure that old timber chair your uncle built. It’s real. It’s got fingerprints on it. It has a story.
Just like you do.
And that’s the opportunity in front of you.
The Rise of the Fake—and Why It’s Good News
There’s a flood of AI-generated avatars out there, fake brands, slick-but-soulless content. It’s easy to feel disheartened if you're trying to market your work with heart. But let me flip that for you.
Those fake accounts? They're creating space for people like you. They’re making it easier for the real ones to stand out.
If you’re a coach, a therapist, a course creator, an author - your audience is not waiting for another generic funnel. Your audience is craving connection. And raw real authentic video is one of the best ways to give it.
We Need You To Show Up
People aren’t searching for perfection. They're searching for truth.
Not everyone visits Naples to admire street art. But when they do, what moves them isn’t flawless technique. It’s the humanity. It’s the story. It’s the meaning behind the brush strokes.
It’s the same online.
Your audience is hungry for voices that sound like theirs. For videos that aren’t polished to the point of soullessness. For stories that remind them they’re not alone.
So if you’ve been holding back on using video because you feel you’re not “produced enough,” or you’re comparing yourself to AI-enhanced avatars, I want to encourage you: your message matters more now than ever.
The Call to Us Authentics
We need you to show up. Not with gimmicks. Not with manipulation. But with your story, your voice, your heart.
Because when you show up as you are, you give permission for others to do the same. And that’s how we reclaim the internet—one real connection at a time.
I’ve got more content coming to help you structure your videos in a way that connects without cringe. But for now, just remember:
People are searching for the handmade, the heartfelt, the human. And that means they're searching for you.
